ASCENDERS 2025 POSTER

DESIGN

The objective was to create a poster that related to the The Type Directors Club's Ascenders competition. Each student was given a letter and was to create a bold and interesting design. I was given the letter S.

PROCESS

I began by thumbnailing different ways to create an S. Each thumbnail was scrapped and I started fresh on Adobe Illustrator. To make a more dynamic piece, I curved the S and made a decending shape. The flying papers draw the eye to the description and have a typographic hierarchy.

FINAL RESULT

The design is clean yet playful and dynamic. The poster connects to the theme of the Ascenders competition while not being overly obvious on the letter that was given.
